PhotoCaller is built on a simple principle: the people in your phonebook are your business, not ours. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, exactly what information the app uses and how it is handled. It applies to the PhotoCaller mobile application (the "App").
The short version
- PhotoCaller does not collect, transmit, store on our servers, or sell any personal information.
- Your contacts, photos, and phone numbers remain on your device and under your control.
- There are no user accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
- There are no advertisements, no analytics, and no third-party tracking.
Information stored on your device
To function as a picture phonebook, the App saves the following only on your device:
- Contact photos — pictures you choose from your photo library to represent each contact.
- Names and phone numbers — the details you enter for each contact.
- App settings — such as contact order, your chosen emergency contact, and your PIN.
This information is stored locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Photo library access
When you add a contact, the App requests permission to access your photo library so that you can select a picture for that contact. The App reads only the image you choose, and that image is stored within the App on your device. The App does not scan, index, or upload any other photos in your library.
Making calls
When you tap a contact, the App asks your phone to place a standard telephone call using its built-in dialer. The call is carried by your mobile network or carrier, exactly as any other call would be. The App does not listen to, record, or store your calls or call history.
Backups
The App allows you to create a backup of your contacts. This backup is saved as a file on your own device and remains under your control. It is not transmitted to us and is not stored on any server operated by us.
Children's privacy
PhotoCaller may be set up by a parent or guardian for a child to use. Because the App collects no personal information and transmits nothing off the device, no information about any user — including a child — is ever gathered, stored by us, or shared. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).
Your control over your information
Because all information stays on your device, you remain in full control of it at all times. You can edit or delete any contact within the App, and you can remove all stored information at any time by deleting the App from your device.
Changes to this policy
If this Privacy Policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the revised policy here. Because the App does not collect data, we expect such changes to be infrequent.
